Is the long-admired “Westminster” model of democratic governance in crisis? Characterized as delivering cohesive, stable, accountable, strong and ‘clean’ government, comparative experience of this system in the 21st Century suggests otherwise. Hosted by the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, this conference brings together scholars of politics in Britain, Australia, New Zealand, India, Canada and elsewhere to understand how Westminster systems developed and how they have adapted to recent challenges.
