  • About PEIF

This meeting on the Politics and Economics of International Finance (PEIF) is the first in what we hope will be a continuing series of annual one-day PEIF conferences. Our goal is to bring together scholars interested in economic and political-economy issues in international financial relations. It builds on a research group organized in the late 1980s by Barry Eichengreen and Jeffry Frieden that focused on economic and monetary unification in Europe, later expanded to include international finance more generally. The current PEIF series is chaired by Jeffrey Frankel and Jeffry Frieden, and is organized under the auspices of Harvard’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government.

    Conference: March 9, 2019

    Conference Chairs

    Frankel, Jeffrey
James W. Harpel Professor of Capital Formation and Growth, Harvard Kennedy School.

    Frieden, Jeffry A.
Stanfield Professor of International Peace, Department of Government, Harvard University.
